Surrounding area

Set along the middle stretches of the River Tweed and lying below the Eildon Hills, Tweedswood is found at the heart of the stunning Borders countryside.

There is much to be enjoyed in this beautiful area with its friendly people and rich history.

Whatever your interests are, the Scottish Borders has so much to offer: stately homes and abbeys, walking, golf, mountain biking and horse riding, an abundant art and music scene, local towns and easy access to Edinburgh from Tweedbank train station. Melrose itself is home to the international Rugby 7s tournament in April and the renowned Borders Book Festival in June. Across the Borders, under normal circumstances, there is a full calendar of events ranging from the common ridings, racing at Kelso Racecourse and other sporting events to Open Studios, folk music, concerts and festivals.
