• Cowies pool provides slow deep water which falls away into a faster flowing section with several rock lies.  It has been very productive in all heights for salmon from both banks with fly or spinner.
• The Boiler pool, as the name suggests, has deep swirling water giving very good fly water.  It runs down into the corner of the Braes pool then down into the middle Braes which is a fast bubbly area, useful in low water and River Spey type fly water.  There are very good natural rock lies along the Braes.

The Lower Beat, starts in the middle Braes, passing through some exciting white water with deep lies created by large natural boulders, making a lively section of fine fly water.  It consists of three pools:

• Tappies pool is a small high-water resting pool which can be productive when running off from a flood. 
• Tweedswood pool can be fished from boat or bank.  It has every thing you would expect from a great middle Tweed Pool, depth, fishablility and great runs through lies and croys.
• The Bridge pool, the bottom pool, beneath the viaduct, is one of the more famous landmarks along the Tweed.  It is a large and very productive pool in both medium and low water making it unrivalled on the middle Tweed.
