2007 - A RECORD TO BE PROUD OF 232
2007 will always be special and a huge mile stone in the tweedswood history with a catch that has to go back 17 years to get anything like it so things on a high after that season.Good spring 40 by the end of June and good head of springers to boot so things in the spring looking up for the whole river.Very wet weather all summer or was there a summer never noticed one ah that 3 weeks dry spell in August that was it going into a unbelivable Sept with 66 salmon never saw the like with huge nos going through in Sept and everyone having a blast and plenty sea liced salmon as well . Just when you thought this salmon fishing is easy bang it all came crashing down Oct best month of the season and only 36 salmon unreal and we were the lucky ones low water struck and it was to our advantage places like Tappies going into the book and the Breas going strong as well so we got by Nov saw water again and it picked up 57 salmon but most returned to the river but there it was a brief 2007 star moment for me was seeing so many fresh salmon in Sept never saw it like that before in 15 years . To round things of Lord Deveonport annonced that he had sold the beat and it was given over to the new owners good or bad lets see what we are writting here next year ,no season is complete with out you the Anglers and iam for ever inyour debt in the way you fish hard for the beat and the manner you take the ups and downs in this trully magnificent Sport as ive always thought take your Brains out on the way in and collect at the gate on the way out you all can relate exactlly to what i mean thanks to you all and for looking after me in the way you all do most apreciated heres to the next Season and all faces well Ken"t or not looking forward to casting the fly again at Tweedswood ...
